THE JUSTICE OF GOD'S WORKING...
"Now in the fifteenth year of the reign of Tiberius Caesar, Pontius Pilate being governor of Judea, Herod being tetrarch of Galilee, his brother Philip tetrarch of Iturea and the region of Trachonitis, and Lysanias tetrarch of Abilene. While Annas and Caiaphas were high priests, the word of God came to John the son of Zacharias in the wilderness. And he went into all the region around the Jordan, preaching a baptism of repentance for the remission of sins." Luke.3:1-3.
God has no respect of persons when working and assigning men for a particular and definite purpose, but He has what He looks for in every vessel or individual He want to use. His yardstick for recruiting men for service in His master plan is not primarily ability, skill or expertise, His primary prerequisite is availability.
Nevertheless, God create every man for a unique and significant purpose, but He does not impose His purpose on anyone; instead, He gives everyone a level ground to make a choice while He do His part to reveal His plan to anyone who cares to know.
I discovered following my little experience and understanding, that, not everyone God intended to fulfill a certain purpose usually fit into it, not because God has changed His plan for them or He's partial, but because, many are not conscious of their purpose and align themselves with God for the needed or rather necessary preparation to accomplish the desire of God at particular point in time. Not only in the spiritual or religious perspective, but also in the secular respectively.
Looking at the scenario in the above scripture text for this piece, God had a plan to speak and reveal His immediate plan to the people of that time and correct their evil conducts that drew His presence away from them; there were men in position of authorities with which such purpose could be accomplished by virtue of their offices and titles, but unfortunately were insensitive and irregular in heart for divine mission. They have titles, recognition and commendation from men but lack relevance for their core value, purpose and position. While God was making up a plan to bless the world with a unique gift from heaven above to eliminate the impediments of sin and curse of law which man has been entangled into for ages, bringing about the emergence of the messiah to whom has been apportioned the salvation of the world, and fortunately enough, coming from their region, but their was no available medium by which such fantastic plan could be communicated to the world.
I wonder how many great and glorious purposes of God for this age have been suspended and men suffering from its omission because the assigned vessels appointed to accomplish them are not available or rather usable. The missions of God in various spheres of our economy are lacking accomplishments today not because there are no men who claim to be a Christian at the positions of authority, but because there are no available sons and daughters of God who are led by the Spirit of God and capable of transforming the desires of God's heart into reality. "For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are the sons of God." "For the earnest expectation of the creation eagerly waits for the revealing of the sons of God." Romans.8:14; 8:19. It would be a gross misconception and our generation would continue to suffer grief afflictions from its repercussion if we continue to mistake church goers and religious observers with Christians(the children of God). What defines a child of God is the presence of the Holy Spirit in him and his ability to walk in total obedience to the same.
God could not see a medium receptive and welcoming for His presence by which His good intentions could be communicated and accomplished until the fifteenth year of the reign of certain government and officials. Many governments and officials have come and gone which regimes were not accommodating for good will of God until this time. I pray today, every administrations and forces that does not permit the good intention of God for our land and our generation to come to stay; the Lord will wipe them away in anger in Jesus name.
God eventually saw a parent he could sponsor a child into their union to produce the desired medium by which His plans could be revealed and His purpose accomplished. It suggests to me that another factor God considers in fulfilling His plan and purpose is the home, there are many parents God had tried in His bid to accomplish this great desire until it comes to the turn of Zachariah and Elizabeth. While others failed, God had rendered His good intentions to the bear, Zachariah succeeded in raising John the baptist in the fear of the Lord and gave him over to God for His good purpose, not minding the circumstances that surrounded his birth. First, being their old age son and their only child, couple with the reproach and humiliation they went through to give birth to him. What a family of God! What a sacrifice and consecration indeed! May God give us a godly parents in this generation who will hasten revival and transformation in our time in Jesus name. Parents who are not selfish and lord over God's heritage.
Notwithstanding, there are dignitaries and principal officers who were by reason of position have the power and authority to influence people, command audience and make their word have a lasting impact on people under their auspices, but God Bye passed them, right from the king to the governor; the three tetrarchs, and even the two high priest who were by office and title are in a better position to fulfill the mandate, but unfortunately were not relevant with their position before God. God had to look for a man who apparently by location, qualification and position does not fit for the task and used
him, because of the readiness of his heart.
John was in the wilderness, they were in the aso villa; John was not accessible to modern technologies yet God saw him fit for the assignment.
The volume of God's word that will come to you and the relevance of your impact among men is in direct proportion with your availability for God. It also determine the scope and capacity OF YOUR influence among men in your generation.
The answer of Jesus to His father's call according to the account of Isaiah was, "Here I am send me." His resolution at the peak of the persecution was, "Not as I will, but yours be done." And so were all His twelve loyal disciples. They surrendered all on the altar of sacrifice to the Almighty God. That is why their labour could not be forgotten and their traces erased generations after they have gone.
Beloved, are you aspiring to be useful for God? Do you intend to leave a mark upon the surface of time and have a voice Even when you are no more? Are you willing to go beyond the horizon and have your influence around the globe? It is not about connection with men of substance, it is primarily a connection with the God of substance. It is not about degrees and titles, it about earning decrees and approval from the mouth of God; It is not about Wealth and power, It is about the Source of all wealth, power and authority. Neither is it about fluent and beautiful oratory, God knows how to handle those ones, it is primarily about your readiness and availability.
John did not know any one in the corridors of power, but when problem ensued at the cabinet, they have to sought for him in the wilderness for solution because of the unfailing and seasoned word of God that came to him and go out of his mouth to men in his generation.
I pray for you today, you will hear God.
